A taste of Tyneside. Highly recommended for stotty cake, peach melba, custard donuts, meat and vegetable and cheese pasties. Coffee is cheap and cheerful and a total bargain. Eat in or takeaway. As despised by all Guardian readers.

I come here every other day and the foods actually nice, my one little writhing squirm about this place is one particular younger worker behind the counter with Specs, who can’t help but glare n gawk me down as I stand patiently in the queue waiting to order

Bacon roll and cappuccino for £2.69? Wow that's good value. Ok the cappuccino isn't the best in the world but it's pretty good and what a bargain. Always happy to find an excuse for a sneaky morning snack at Gregg's.
