Pleasent old style pub, full of character. A place mum would be comfortable in with old style music. Nice steak pie, not in dish but very tender meat, and good gravy. Fish was lovely and fresh. Friendly local pub, nice and cosy. They had a weekly local game night going in which was interesting as well. Dog friendly and homely food and service.
Vegetarian options: Tagine was really tasty.

Couldn’t be more different to its noisier neighbour pub. Don’t get me wrong, I liked them both but the Wheatsheaf had a bit more quirky character, quiet with old fashioned furnishings but excellent service and a tasty veggie tagine (the only plant based offering) with chunky chips washed down with some lovely Hook Norton... read full comment
