Love this place, food is lovely, staff very attentive, well worth a visit. Have had an afternoon tea and a meal for a Christmas get together, both times the food was amazing. A nice choice of food and the cakes are amazing! Can’t wait till my next visit.

This was an adequate visit to this pleasant cafe. The service was good friendly and attentive . Sadly the food could only be described as average. We had one fish pie which was not great and apparently lacking in fish. I had sausages which were not that tasty and served with a rather lumpy mash and assorted veg which were...

From the 1867
The 1867 Crew took over from the Darlingtons Team in July 2022. It took a while to establish the new eatery name, but it was decided we should celebrate the beautiful buildings that are here at the Heart of the Shires Shopping Village. You will see on the gable end of one of the barns, 1867 clearly visible - thank you to the stonemasons! Those of you that have been to our eatery lately will have seen the internal changes and thank you all for your lovely comments.The menu is very much the same, just with a few tweaks, so rest assured your favourites are still here. We will be introducing breakfast soon, from 9.30am, and afternoon tea from 2pm. We are a friendly bunch here at the 1867, so please feel free to pop in, relax and enjoy.
