They restrict access to your account under the guise of protecting you from fraud. They decide whether you can complete a transaction, not you. They treat your money as their own.

My 87 year old Dad's account was frozen trying to fund an isa. He was distressed to be told over phone they had no IT way to verify his identity and demanded he visit in person, paying no heed to his disability and mobility problems.
