Due to family issues I’ve driven through Bishop’s Stortford three times in 6 months. I always pop in to Oxfam bookshops wherever I’m near one. This shop is NEVER open!! Tried three times to visit this shop over the last year, including today, and it has always been closed due to staff sickness etc. Notice on door states it will reopen next week. Better luck next time?

A typical old fashioned charity shop, with some real bargains and gems to be found, alongside a lot of bought-in new goods, all crammed into a very small space. Despite being busy, it never felt crowded, and you can find what you are looking for here. Prices were also very reasonable. The cash register however is very close... read full comment
