I returned an item one day over the policy date on the receipt. I didn't ask for refund I wished to buy a jacket and offered to pay the extra in exchangebut M&S wouldn't bend. One of the oldest British shopping chains still on the high street. Excellent clothing + food hall. Not very big as some other M&S shop, but compact ground floor and first floor.
