The menu had changed, so had to compromise. My husband's 'sticky beef rib' starter wasn't cheap and was barely 2 mouthfuls and very badly presented. My soup was good. Reluctant to go again.

Booked a table for my wife and I for Xmas eve. Turned up at allotted time to then be told they’d shut the kitchen because they were too busy!! Utter joke. Grade II listed pub and hotel with a restaurant that has stunning views of the river stour for the outside terrace. The pub is situated just 13 miles from Harwich International Port and a is a prime location to visit many other local villages such as Dedham and Flatford, being on the outskirts of 'Constable Country'. Fresh home cooked food is served daily with everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner, The Crown has something for everyone.
