We went for Sunday lunch on 13th October. The staff were good, but quite a few items unavailable, even the coffee! The food wasn't as good as I'd been led to believe but the quantity of beef - which was excellent- was huge so a bit of a mixed bag. I'd go again though as it's a great rural venue and is definitely worth supporting.

This is as close to perfect as you can get for a country pub. Brilliant atmosphere and the staff are always really friendly and professional. Beers are always a highlight as they are mainly Thornbridge (local craft brewer). The food is delicious with an interesting and varied menu that changes with the seasons. We have a lovely dinner here. Everything is good whether food, atmosphere or service. We would love to come back if we revisit the Bakewell area.
The Packhorse Inn is a quirky and cosy little pub in the heart of the beautiful Peak District with three roaring fires and a beer garden. We are situated a short walk from the Monsal Trail, Longstone Edge, Bakewell and the views of Monsal Dale. We serve freshly prepared and locally sourced food from our monthly changing menus. Beer comes from the nearby Thornbridge Brewery and a full selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks are also available.
