Nipped for a drink because we liked the look of this old pub. The staff and chef were very nice and so were the drink. However the food was mediocre to say the least. We eat up because we were hungry but doubt I’d try food again, sorry!

We like this pub especially the fire. BUT one suggestion dim the light just a little to make it cosy. It's too bright.
Built during the 1500's, this traditional English inn boast the largest inglenook fireplace in Cumbria as well as being the oldest pub in Kirkby Lonsdale. We are dog friendly, have a large beer garden, and guests can stay over night in one of our letting cottages. We offer a great selection of real ales and ciders alongside a premium drinks range that compliment our pub kitchen. So, whether you're meeting up with families or friends, be it for a drink or something to eat, come and relax and enjoy this centuries old pub.
