The shop is a lovely essential place in Lorton village, great fresh bread, coffee and other local produce, love the colourful candles and chocolates locally made.

Have driven past a couple of times, but finally cycled over to the shop today. What a little gem...selling a great combination of essentials, treats, lots of lovely local items, hot drinks and ice creams. I was happy to find quite a few vegan items, including homemade flapjacks, sausage rolls and booja-booja chocolates - just the pick-me-up I needed! Oh and essentially, stamps! Friendly and knowledgeable owner too, who gave me some route advice, thank you - I'll be back!

Popped over to Lorton village shop after a long walk in Whinlatter for some fresh veg and bread. Great to see food in a brown paper bag, and the bread was lovely, really fresh as you would expect. Bought potatoes eggs onions carrots and a nice steak pie for the trip back home. Oh and sausage as well.

Small but very useful local shop. Serves great ice creams and a range of essential foodstuffs. A real community resource. Thank you.

So lovely to see a village shop with a fantastic range of organic, local and good quality products. We stopped here for some provisions on our glamping trip and the staff were very friendly as well. Would definitely stop by again if we are in the area!

Great little village shop, friendly staff, great ice cream. Walked here twice as a family for food supplies and the ice cream.

The shop was recommended to us and it was even better than expected. It's very friendly, extremely well-stocked and has a lovely little garden behind, to have the great coffee that they serve.

Today Patrick and I went for a coffee and a bite to eat from here. We had initially tried to do the same at the Kirkstile. Low staff numbers meant that the pub was closed until 3pm and no food was served from then until 5.30pm.We made a good choice as the cafe garden was open again. Nice quadrangle with chairs and tables behind the shop. Pleasant toilet with baby changing facilities too. The birds eating fat balls provided entertainment in this peaceful location. The Americanos were very good and both the ham sandwich (made by Lindsay's butchers in Cockermouth) and the chocolate Tiffin were excellent. Total cost £9.20.Worth a visit in my opinion.
