Good food and portion sizes. however we chose the wrong night to visit. It was quiz night. We didn't want to participate. We stopped at the Shepherd’s Arms on Night Two of our C2C walk. It was warm and wonderful. Comfortable beds, good dinner, excellent breakfast and solid advice about how to access the different trails the next day. We were well positioned and prepared for what was our first big day. Excellent pub and hotel.

Overnight stay whilst doing the Coast to Coast. Very welcoming on arrival, shown to our room (room 3 - twin room) which was great. Clean and comfortable with a very nice and modern shower room attached, which was most welcome after a days walking!
