Building needs a total refit if my room was anything to go, never seen such a run down PI shame as staff were very helpful. I could share photos but I won?t as it?s not the staffs fault but the management for not refurbing this hotel. In future I will check as if they have one like this no doubt there?s others and if it had not been an emergency family issue I would of walked straight out again.Rooms: Room in a bad state of repair bad filling bad paintwork dated and worn out bathroom and black particles coming out of the bath tap.

Just had a 2 night stay here and 1 of the best premier inns we have stayed in.Welcomed by very friendly staff in reception got to room we had 112 and it was a lovely spacious room so clean and bathroom was spotless with view over the car park even though facing main road and pub next door it was very quiet just what was needed for a wkend away.We had the breakfast lovely choice of continental and full English all staff friendly including the landlady.We did go to eat in there on the 1st night but it does get booked up very quickly so we went to the Toby down the road but we booked for the following night and we couldn't fault the food or the service.If we ever come back this way we will definitely chose this place to stay again and would recommend to family and friendsRooms: Spacious and so cleanNearby activities: Town centreCastleCathedralShopping centreWalkability: Plenty within easy reach shopping retail Park over road and town centre a 15 minute walk along with the amazing cathedral and castleFood & drinks: Lovely pub on siteMcdonalds over roadDominoesFish and chipsChineseAll within 10 min walk

There was a squeaky sound from the piping in the building all night, so sleeping was tough for me with my tinnitus but other than that it was great. I'll just bring ear plugs next time.Walkability: Close to grocery and pubs. It's right on the main street through the neighbourhood so it's easy to walk through town.Food & drinks: Good food and pubs nearby

Stayed here before a work shift. Staff were friendly. Food really good too and rooms were warm and cosy especially on the cold night!

Stayed Friday 27 Oct. For a Premier Inn this place is grotty. Tired rooms, noisy bathroom fan & noisy heater. Noisy ceiling, the creaking floor above betrayed every step of the person above. Unfortunately for us they were stepping around at 2am.

Book in here on way back down from Scotland, the staff were nice and friendly, but the room was the worst I have ever stayed in and certainly not up to the usual premier standards.It was very dated and didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while.Paint flaking of the walls and the bathroom was dirty, found stuff under the bed and the sofa bed.There were also a lot of travellers booked in that night with campervans in the carpark it looked like they had already been drinking a lotWe really didn't feel comfortable partly because of the state of the place but mostly in case it all got out of hand with the travellers.So we found another hotel and left. Turned out to an expensive night out but better safe than sorry
