Had a lovely 3 night stay with our dog. Staff were great, always busy but nothing was too much trouble. Great atmosphere too and everyone was very friendly. Food was good. Hotel right in centre of Ambleside so perfect for restaurants, cafe’s and lovely gift shops. Would definitely come back.

Definitely overpriced at almost £200/night. Although ideally placed in the centre of Ambleside, i'm not sure i would choose the Ambleside in again. The room was quite small and the standard of cleanliness could have been better dust around tea/coffee/kettle area, rust around soap dispenser in bathroom). Tea/coffee not...

Went for meal very busy managed to get a table went to bar to place food order only to be told the food we had chosen was not available more than one choice we then chose the fish and chips which we thought were very overpriced at £18 each turns out they were as the chips had been cooked so many times they had dried out...
